I am playing in a fantasy football league for the first time. I love it!!!!!! Especially since the Browns are so horrible -- it allows me to enjoy the NFL a little more. I lost my first two games by a few points. This week I won and I smoked the competition!!!
My players are:
QB: Donald Driver (Jacksonville), Jay Cutler (Chicago)
RB: Maurice Jones-Drew (Jacksonville), Marion Barber (Dallas), LeShaun McCoy (Philly), Rickey Williams (Miami), Ahmad Bradshaw (NYG),
WR: Santonio Holmes (Pittsburg), Donald Driver (Green BAY), Randy Moss (NE), Jerricho Cotchery (NYJ)
TE: Greg Olsen (Chicago), Tony Scheffler (Den)
Defense: New York Jets, Carolina Panthers
Kicker: Nate Kaeding (San Diego)
When your team is HORRIBLE, there is always fantasy! Root for these players!!! :)
I love football. I think it's because of Carrie's love for the game when we were younger and also because I went to OSU. I just love watching it!

Seasons
It's odd not having four unique seasons. It has felt like summer to me since February. I still remember looking for Sam Adam's Summer Ale in February and realizing that it wasn't there because it's NOT summer, even if it was 80 degrees outside.
There are some changes. I remember that during "winter" it does not rain -- so it's very dry and towards March/April/May the chances of fires increase in Florida. It rains a lot and is VERY humid in the "summer." And now... during fall the rain has cut back a little and the humidity is starting to drop.
Today, I was asked my a patient how long I have been a Physical Therapist and I said "since October." The student that was observing me looking at me odd. I thought for a second. I have been a PT for a year. The most striking part was not that I have been practicing or a year, but that it's going to be October in a few days! I honestly cannot believe it. It's still 90 degrees here.
I cannot explain how it feels, but the lack of distinctive seasons alters your perception of time. As much as I despise the cold, I believe the seasons help you get a better handle on time.
I miss my family. I miss Ohio. I miss the seasons.

Wiiiiii..
I am at Marianne's playing WI with Logan, Shaun, and Marianne (Phat). Marianne being here has made this transition easier for me and I love her. I will be sad when her and Logan leave! I will miss my boom biddies.
The Last Lecture
I said I read The Last Lecture. Well, not read, but listened to it on the way down. Here are some things that I enjoyed from the book. I highly suggest you read this book! It's inspirational, educational, and motivational.
"Brick walls are there for a reason. They are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. The brick walls are there to stop people who don’t want it badly enough."
"We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand. "
"Find the best in everybody. Just keep waiting no matter how long it takes. No one is all evil. Everybody has a good side, just keep waiting, it will come out."
"People are ALWAYS more important than things."

Coming Home
I am flying home on March 5 (Thursday) to get the rest of my stuff. Dad is coming with me to take the rest of my stuff back. I think we are leaving on Sunday morning. I hope to spend as much time with my family and friends when I am not packing/loading the truck.
Home Sick
I am home sick. Well, I think thats what is it. There is just something safe about home. Or, at least it makes you feel safe. I don't know. So, basically I am sad and I am calling it home sick.
I live in an apartment that has a bed, a tv, a beach chair, a desk, a pot, a pan, some silverware and 4 plastic cups, bowls, and plates. This is definately a lot more than some people have. But, it flat out sucks. It does not feel like home to me at all. I cannot wait until I have the rest of my stuff. But then I worry... and wonder when I get all my stuff, am I going to feel any better?
I live far away from my family. I appreciate my family a lot more that I am 1,200 miles away. It was so much different when I lived two hours away... there were definately times when my family and friends came to visit in times when I needed someone. I could also drive home -- which I did a lot.
I always thought I was a pretty independent person, but moving here has made me realize that I depend on others a lot more than I thought. My family has helped me do almost everything in my life and I am more appreciative of all they have done for me. I almost feel lost without them here.
Then there are the babies. It breaks my heart that I don't see them. No matter what kind of a day I was having, if I saw the babies pure joy would fill my soul. I would do anything to have Mollie wack me in the face or pinch me and have Collin try to steal my cell phone.
My job is okay -- its not my dream job, but I honestly don't even know what my dream job is. I have an issue with confidence and sometimes I feel like I suck at my job. There is a girl at work, her name is Jill, she is a contracter that is leaving on Friday. But, she is amazing -- unbelievable knowledge and dedication to what she does. I've learned more from her than anyone else that works there -- and I am sad even after three days of working with her (she had Thursday and Friday off) that she will be leaving. I am worried I won't have a mentor there. Well, I won't. So, I will have to look for a mentor through the APTA (my professional assocation).
I worry about money pretty much 50% of the day. I constantly analyze what I am buying, how much money I have, how much money I will have, how many bills I have to pay. I have to start paying on my school loans in March. It won't be that bad. I hope. I looked at my information online -- but I have to call the AES (American Education Services) to understand everything more. They are helpful. I have 1/2 my loans consolidated with Key Bank, the other half the government still has.
I have been eating like crap - so I've gained about 4 pounds back, which sucks. But with all this change I am going back to bad habits again. I am hoping I can get back into things. Missing two weeks of weight watchers meetings didn't help. I went this week. I didn't like the leader much, but I can go to a different meeting.
I pretty much worry about everything. I think to myself I am pathetic. I have friends that have lived in different countries -- they did this, some multiple times. Italy, Australia, Costa Rica, New Zealand, Spain, Scotland, Nicaragua. I can barely move to Orlando, FL. I spoke with one of my friends, Lauren, currently Nicaragua -- she said I am doing just fine. She said once I quit worrying and let things happen life will be a lot easier. I know that, but I don't know how.
And then there is Shaun. His grandfather died early Friday morning. His "grandpop" was basically his father. He said to be earlier today that him and his grandpop had a bond that no one else had. He wanted him to be his best man -- he has said that to me before. I feel sad for him.
When it all comes down to it -- there isn't anything that is so bad in my life. There isn't. But, I feel bad. Sometimes I just want to come back to Ohio, but I won't. I need to learn to deal with my worries and deal with change. Just another challenge I have for myself.

Here in Florida!
I was just updating my facebook page, writing about listening to the The Last Lecture on my IPOD on the drive down here. And then, I started thinking. All my family can't see this, all the friends I would want to see this can't, and some people that can see this I do not want to see this. haha. So, I have decided to create a blog for the people I love and want to read about my life. This will be useful, especially since I am far away.
So, I arrived about 8PM last night. I am so proud of myself for making it through the whole drive. The first few hours weren't the best -- I had to go between 30-40 mph in West Virginia. Surprisingly, for as little snow as they get (directly from my friend Sarah who is from WV), they drove very well in it. After I got past Charleston, WV there was some snow on the ground, but it was a lot better and it started raining, so it was mainly slush. I'm not going to lie, it was definately scary going through the mountains with the snow and having the trucks pass me. The rest of the drive was fine. I passed through Charolette around 1PM so I avoided traffic there. I looked at the drive as a challenge and that is what got me through it. I focused on getting to Florida.
When I finally got to Marianne's, I felt kind of shakey and didn't understand why. I had stopped about 6 times and hadn't felt like that. But, when I woke up this morning I had a stomach ache and a headache. I've got a little flu bug, but I am okay -- just feel week, so I will be resting today.
I could not have asked for a more perfect book than The Last Lecture to have listend to on the drive down here. It helped me put things in perspective. Right now I do not have EVERYTHING figured out, but that's okay. I have dreams and goals that I wish to accomplish and I will accomplish them. There are often many brick walls in the way -- but like Randy (the author) says they are only there to keep the people that really don't want it away. I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm done doubting myself. I'm done worrying about not being able to do something. So, yes, I came down here with no job, no place to live, no clue what I am doing. But, it will work out -- because I want it to -- and when I have in my head I am going to do something I do it. Without challenges, life would be boring.
The other advice/point he brought up was about worrying what other people think. He said to not waste precious time worrying about what others think. He talked about how much more productive you can be when you aren't worrying about what others think. And even though people say not to worry about others -- I don't ever remember it being presenting to be this way. I'm all about efficiency and productivity -- so I am going to use this as a strategy to quit worrying about what other people are thinking.
I didn't end up finishing the book yet. But, I have thing yet to figure out. I believe and agree with many of the stories/advice in his book. But, sometimes I forget or ignore some of these things and then I allow my anxiety and stress to set it. So, my goal is to live my life everyday practicing these beliefs and ideas.
So, today I am sick and I am not doing anything but laying around. Tomorrow I have to get a drug test and meet up with the lady that got me my PRN job. She also set me with a recent new grad (more recent than me) who was previously filling in this spot. I am hoping that he is involved the the Florida Physical Therapy Association and that will help me become more active here. I have a patient every 55 minutes, which is really really good. Thats practically un heard of. The drive is about an hour, which isn't that bad and I can deal with it for the 6 days and with the compensation I am getting.
I will try my best to continue this posting to keep everyone udpated on my life.
